Creating a Space for Belonging

Here we designed mockups of social media platforms. The main form of advertising and community building would start on social media, where we would create a podcast for users to listen to real-life stories and relate to them.

We designed a mobile and desktop site where users could learn more about the platform.

The Beginning of Our Journey to Combat Loneliness

Insights into Addressing Loneliness

Where Clurb Stands.

Campaign to end loneliness.

Campaign to end loneliness.

During Sync the City, a competition where industry professionals and students come together to create a brand in under 54 hours, we embarked on a mission to address loneliness. We envisioned a social platform that connects individuals seeking connection through shared interests and fosters genuine relationships. Our goal was to break down the barriers to finding connections. We crafted a platform that acknowledges the reality of loneliness and resonates with anyone longing for a sense of belonging.

We analyzed several apps that share Clurb’s goal of connecting people and fostering a sense of belonging, evaluating their strengths, weaknesses, and how Clurb can differentiate itself in this space.

We also visited various businesses in our city to discuss their willingness to collaborate with Clurb and host events as part of our initiative. Through these conversations, we aimed to gauge their interest and gather insights on how we can create mutually beneficial partnerships.

We then started to design our business model, where we planned to focus on social media marketing and creating our own community by producing relatable content, such as podcasts. To generate revenue, we would include in-app advertisements from businesses and host events for individuals to attend.

The app starts off by understanding more about the user's wants and personality.

The app features events based on the user's personality and potential friends they may connect with. Once the event is complete, the user will answer a questionnaire to help us better understand if the event was successful and what else they may like.

To foster a greater sense of community and help users relate more, we wanted to create characters with different personalities to feature in the app. A team member illustrated these characters.
